Ensure that the main objective of the procedure is met: maintain a weight that is within the favorable range and resolve the patient’s conditions caused by previous failed surgery.

• When should I have this surgery?

  If the expected weight loss has not been reached or you have any complications due to some type of weight loss surgery because it was not adequate or has not been performed with the correct technique.

  For example:

  – Loss of less than 50% of excess weight in 2 years

  – If there is no improvement in the patient’s quality of life.
  – Weight gain.
